WHY IT MATTERS

Regulatory readiness is about much more than having the correct policies available for inspection.

An independent compliance review gives providers the opportunity to identify weaknesses before they become regulatory findings.

What is actually assessed

Providers need to be able to demonstrate that governance systems operate effectively in practice, that staff are appropriately trained and competent, that risks are actively managed, and that safe, person-centred care can be evidenced throughout the organisation.

Policies on a shelf are not evidence

Inspection looks for what happens in practice, and for the record that proves it.
WHAT WE DO

Homecare compliance and training, from one supplier.

Services can be delivered individually or combined into a tailored programme based on the organisation’s needs.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions providers are asking

Still have a question?

A short call answers most of them, and there is no obligation on either side.

The Health (Amendment) (Home Support Providers) Act 2026 was signed into law on 1 July 2026 but has not yet commenced. The Minister appoints the commencement dates, and a transition period of around twelve months was envisaged.

HIQA will hold the statutory register, and registration is applied for to the Chief Inspector. Once the Act commences, existing providers must notify the Chief Inspector within three months that they are operating a home support service, and must have applied for registration within two years. Operating unregistered carries penalties.

A structured 20-hour induction before employment commences, competency assessment against HSE requirements, the mandatory HSELanD modules, and refresher training thereafter. CareReady delivers the induction on-site, guides new staff through the HSELanD courses, and provides the certification and competency records for your governance file.

CareReady training is developed and delivered by CareReady, and is described as HSE-aligned, meaning it is designed around the training requirements that apply to HSE-funded home support services. It is not approved, certified or endorsed by the HSE or by HIQA, and no third-party accreditation is implied. Attendance, completion and competency assessment are recorded so the evidence sits in your governance file.

A structured compliance review carried out against the framework, covering governance, staff training and competency, risk management and the evidence of safe, person-centred care. You receive a written report with a prioritised corrective action plan, and follow-up support to implement it.

It depends on staff numbers and on the scope of what you need. A short initial consultation establishes the training programme or the areas to be reviewed, and a tailored quotation follows. There is no obligation on either side.
