MOCK INSPECTION

Mock inspections for Irish home support providers.

An independent review of your service against relevant Irish homecare requirements and regulatory developments, carried out before anyone official is doing it. You get a written report, a prioritised action plan, and a clear view of where you actually stand.
THE POINT OF IT

Before it counts

A mock inspection gives providers the opportunity to identify weaknesses before they become regulatory findings.
Carried out remotely or on-site, for providers nationwide.
THE SERVICE

What a mock inspection is, and what it is for

A CareReady mock inspection is designed to help homecare providers understand their current level of compliance and prepare for Ireland's evolving regulatory environment.
With statutory regulation of home support services approaching, providers will increasingly need to demonstrate that effective systems are in place across governance, workforce management, service delivery, quality and safety.
A mock inspection examines the organisation from a regulatory and quality perspective, reviewing the systems, documentation and evidence available to demonstrate safe, effective and well-governed homecare.
Rather than simply identifying gaps, CareReady helps providers understand what needs to change and how to address it in practice.

WHY IT MATTERS

Regulatory readiness is more than having the policies to hand

The introduction of statutory regulation represents a significant change for the Irish homecare sector, and regulatory readiness is about much more than having the correct policies available for inspection.
Providers need to be able to demonstrate that governance systems operate effectively in practice, that staff are appropriately trained and competent, that risks are actively managed, that service-user documentation is robust, and that safe, person-centred care can be evidenced throughout the organisation.
A review also gives management a clearer understanding of what evidence already exists, where inconsistencies or gaps may be present, and which improvements should be prioritised.
The aim is not simply to prepare an organisation to pass an inspection, but to help build systems that support ongoing quality, safety and compliance.

THE REPORT

What you are left holding

You receive a clear written report setting out what was found, and then the findings are translated into a prioritised action plan so management has a roadmap for improvement rather than a list of problems.
Follow-up consultancy, training or a further review can be arranged to support implementation and monitor progress, but the report and the plan are yours either way.

QUESTIONS

Questions providers ask before booking

No. A mock inspection is an independent review carried out by CareReady. Under the Home Support Providers Act 2026, HIQA holds the statutory register for home support services, and registration is applied for to the Chief Inspector. Nothing CareReady does is carried out on behalf of HIQA or the HSE, or endorsed by either.

Yes. The mock inspection can be carried out remotely, and CareReady works with providers nationwide. On-site review can be arranged where that suits the organisation better.

It depends on the size and complexity of the provider and the scope agreed. That is settled at the initial consultation, before any quotation.

Relevant policies, procedures, training records and other documentation may be requested in advance. Part of the value of the exercise is establishing what exists and what does not, so there is no need to have everything in order first.

That is the point of doing it now rather than later. Findings are prioritised into an action plan so the organisation can work through them in order of risk, and follow-up support is available where it helps.

Cost depends on provider size, the number of staff and service users, the scope of the review and the level of support required, so a mock inspection is quoted after an initial consultation.
READY WHEN YOU ARE

Find out where you stand, before someone else tells you.
