THE INDUCTION
20 hours
Delivered before employment commences.
A structured home support induction programme, aligned with relevant training requirements for HSE-funded home support services.
THE SERVICE
Homecare induction training, built for the environment staff work in
CareReady provides structured, practical training specifically designed for staff working within homecare services.
Training can be delivered on-site for homecare organisations and combines classroom-based learning, practical demonstration and competency assessment where appropriate.
A key CareReady offering is a structured homecare induction programme aligned with relevant training requirements for HSE-funded home support services.
The programme is designed to give providers a consistent and structured approach to preparing new care staff for working safely within clients' homes.
Individual modules and refresher training can also be delivered according to the needs of the organisation.
THE INDUCTION PROGRAMME
The requirement, and where CareReady steps in
HSE tender requirements place a clear obligation on home support providers: 20 hours of induction training, completed before employment commences. CareReady delivers that training, certifies it for the provider's governance records, and completes the HSE competency assessments that are a further requirement before employment begins.
Delivered before employment commences
Induction is completed before a new home support worker starts in a client's home, which is what the requirement asks for.
Certified for governance records
Attendance records and certification are issued so the training sits properly in the provider's staff file.
HSE competency assessments
Completed alongside the induction, covering the further requirement that applies before employment commences.
Mandatory HSELanD modules
New care staff are guided through the mandatory HSELanD courses required before employment commences, so they are completed rather than chased afterwards.
Onboarding, largely handled
The provider is left with very little to do practically for staff onboarding.
MODULES
Twenty-three modules, and how they fit together
Training can include any of the following, delivered as a full induction programme or as individual modules and refresher sessions. Training can also be tailored to address specific workforce or compliance gaps identified by an organisation.

COMPETENCY
Attendance is not the same as competency
Training focuses not only on attendance, but on helping providers demonstrate that staff have the knowledge and practical competence required to deliver safe, person-centred care in the community.
Where appropriate, staff complete practical assessments to demonstrate their ability to safely apply their learning. The assessment is recorded, so what the provider holds afterwards is evidence of competence rather than evidence of attendance alone.

DELIVERY AND CERTIFICATION
You work with Sarah directly
Training is delivered personally by CareReady founder Sarah Jevens.
Sarah has extensive healthcare and homecare experience across frontline care, clinical homecare assessment, care planning, staff management, safeguarding, risk management, training and quality.
Because she delivers the training herself, the certification that follows carries her own instructor qualification where that applies, and CareReady's own record where it does not. Both are set out below.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE
There is a real difference between training certified against an external qualification and training CareReady has developed itself. Both are useful. They are not the same thing, and this page does not blur them.
EXTERNALLY QUALIFIED
Manual and People Handling
Certification is issued in line with the instructor's relevant qualification and applicable training requirements. Sarah holds a QQI Level 6 Manual and People Handling Instructor qualification.
CAREREADY DEVELOPED
CareReady training modules
Participants receive a CareReady certificate of completion or attendance and, where applicable, documentation of practical competency assessment. These are CareReady's own records, and no external accreditation is implied.
CareReady training is described as HSE-aligned. It is not HSE-approved or HSE-certified, and nothing on this site should be read as endorsement, approval or accreditation by the HSE or by HIQA.
QUESTIONS
Questions providers ask before booking
No. CareReady describes its training as HSE-aligned, which means it is designed around the training requirements that apply to HSE-funded home support services. It is not approved, certified or endorsed by the HSE or by HIQA, and no third-party accreditation is implied.
HSE tender requirements set 20 hours of induction training, to be completed before employment commences. The CareReady induction programme is built around that requirement.
On-site, at the provider's own premises or at a location that suits. Sarah brings all equipment, and room hire can be arranged where a provider does not have a suitable space. Coverage is nationwide.
Both. The structured induction programme is designed for new care staff, and individual modules or refresher training can be delivered to existing staff according to the needs of the organisation.
Yes. The training service is open to nursing home settings as well as to home support providers.
Training is quoted after an initial consultation. Cost varies with the number of staff, the modules required and the scale of the programme, so a single published price would not be useful to anybody.
